Intro to White Water Canoe
Confidence on Grade 2
This is a course for those who have built up experience on flat water and understand the fundamentals of paddling. We’ll take the existing skills you have learnt and apply them to a moving water environment. We’ll look at river hydrology and how to identify river features. We build on your existing knowledge and introduce you to developing a relationship between your paddle and the flow. Our trips are all about techniques to achieve efficient outcomes, maximal output from minimal input.
This course is suitable for both solo and tandem canoeists.
Our venue will be on grade 2 whitewater, in the winter we’ll explore different locations and sections in North Wales to get the best location on the day. In the Summer months we’ll head to the River Dee.
We can also provide British Canoeing Personal Performance awards.
