We are extremely passionate about paddlesport, the outdoors and providing an excellent service. For us, seeing the enjoyment and happiness people gain from learning a new skill or having a new experience knowing that we have contributed towards it is the greatest reward.

Based in North Wales we have some of the best rivers, open water venues and British countryside on our doorstep. Join us for an experience and feel a connection to the river, with nature, with family, and with friends.

Although the conditions for today's assessment were forecast, they never materialised resulting in the assessment being postponed. This is always a disappointment for the candidate but it's something we have to do to ensure everyone is assessed fairly and standards are being maintained. Adam will be back soon to do his assessment and won't be charged for today. Nice to be back on the Dee for a two day course with Tom, Anthony and Paul from @edgepaddling canoe club. With no whitewater paddling over the past two years due to Covid and two of the guys only recently taking up canoeing the team were making moves with style and confidence by the end of the course! It's not all swimming and sunsets but the rewards are worth it! ~~~ Leading an expedition of this type requires you to constantly assess risk and be dynamic to ensure the group is not only safe but sticking to the schedule. Once that first portage is crossed the only way out is via floatplane or to paddle and portage. I enjoy the pressure I'm put under leading these trips; testing my skillset and decision making and the sense of achievement when everything works out. The expedition required exposed crossings in open water with winds up to force 4 and multiple portages - the longest being the Dickson portage of 5305m. There were a few days which required paddling into the early evening in order to keep to schedule. Trying to find enough camp clearings to accommodate the 15 students and 4 staff members brought its own unique challenge. There is no doubt that this trip will stay with the students for a long time, the challenges they faced contributed to the sense of achievement they all felt once returning to the starting point and being a part of their journey is a reward in itself. ~~~~ Need a guide for a wilderness expedition?
